For Rissie Woods-Forrester

Here are some photos I took this afternoon on my walk with Mattie...yes, I did edit them a little. The theme for the day is Beauty and Love...in Memory of Meme. Rest in Heaven with all your loved ones my dear Grandma ♥

Our new house!! We are so very happy to have been able to move here. This is a great neighborhood for us. Close to the downtown and close to parks...YAY...We are blessed.
sitting at the table with some tea...wondering how to send mom lots of photos of the new house via "the Internets". Off work today!!! I am soooo blessed to have the day off! There is laundry on the line and chores to be done. Then I will start with making some new curtains. Haven't been able to find my sewing machine so I have been doing all the sewing by hand.

I made these valances (they are lined even) completely by hand. The curtains for the bottom half of the windows will not be lined and will be of linen. I love the pine paneling...it is thick and aged. You can barely see the table that we touched up, it was Richie's grandma's.

Beautiful Saturday and we both are off!! Plans for the day include: sewing up some curtains, staining some shelves for the kitchen, eating dinner out, going to Wilson's Apple Orchard...and what ever else we can squeeze in! So excited for this day...sunny and already have a load of laundry on the line.

Last night we walked to the downtown(about 13 blocks) and they had a Reggie/Jazz band playing in the ped-mall. LOTS of people, dancing and food. We grabbed a coffee and sat on a bench for a while. Walked back home and watched a stupid movie on hulu.

Can you believe that our family lived in this house when I was a senior in High School. It looks like a mansion! It had oak woodwork, oak open staircase with paneled walls. A Grand Old Dame...there was 5 daughters, mom, step-dad and big dog. I occupied the entire attic. It was a walk-up with it's own private stairway. The stairway led to the kitchen. It must have been for servants in the 1800's. It was full of dead flies in the summer and unheated in the winter. But I had privacy! An easel was set up with oil paints next to my bed. I was certain that I was a suffering artist. Funny now to think about it.
Tired...and not wanting to complain.

All last week I listened to "Oscar Wilde: His Life and Confessions" by Frank Harris via Librivox podcast. All 29 Chapters! It was an engrossing listen due to the reader's skill. And the story line...a biography of sorts.

Besides that...have been sewing. Having not found my sewing machine, I am in the process of hand sewing some curtains for the kitchen. It is slow going. The valances are lined.

We picked up some veggies and some ripe (fresh picked by us!) tomatoes yesterday. So my job is to make up some pizza dough now and we will have us a killer dinner tonight.

I know this is all boring and domestic...just kind of tired and blah....sorry....some wine may help! Or vodka...what else? A big hug from my beloved..

We (I) found the camera...and have a day off tomorrow! Joy...freedom...

So busy here...and rarely on the puter...maybe once the slower season of fall and winter come will I be inclined to post more....happy summer breezes your way. Oh the love of REAL letters. So much better to talk to loved ones on the phone or converse with friends via postal service than over the
"internets". AAAAAAAHHHHHH lovely summer...pictures soon! I promise...

Hello world! It has been many years since there was a post on here. So, starting up anew. My fingers are not used to the keyboard...many mis...
