Working on some things art wise...I have tried using the grid method of sketching from photos before...and I get the proportions ok (good enough) but the over all effect isn't exciting to me.  It leaves a feeling of flatness.  Drawing from life is the way to go...This little painting is about the usage of religious practices and beliefs that are "used" by people to justify their judgemental-ness/condemnations and closed minded mean-ness.  (Boy, that's a mouthful! haha).  It is what has been bothering me and this is just a way to express it.

Hopefully I will get the thing done soon.

Yesterday was mostly spent outside (since I had the day off.  And have today off also!!  YAY...due to some cancellations).  I planted some squashes, beans and cucumbers, made up some bamboo trellises and hoed the garden.  So today I figure I will be gentler with this body...

Thinking about making some soap this afternoon and going to the library/bike ride too.

I'm trying to make the back yard a private oasis!!  We live on a corner lot...so it is a challenge...it will become a lovely place of relaxation...(but in the mean time it is a place of extreme work!!  Which I do love).

Peace out this day...it is beautiful!  How I love when I have the time and energy to work on soul-work!!

May you have a soul-workout too.

Hope springs eternal, today and always!  What a wonderful day so far.  The weather is perfect and all the little plants and seeds are growing.  Oh how being off work today would top it all off.  But off to earn my keep...

Hopefully after work I get to have these same energies!!!  Because there are things to do around here...a big list of goals and tasks.

Here is a sampling of more engravings I will be putting into the Etsy shop.  Very exciting stuff.  Old and beautiful engravings...
Cheers...

Went to the first weekend Farmer's market of the year this morning...got some goodies!  Lots of asparagus!

Here are photos of the rug that I'm stitching.  As you can see, I had to rip out most of it...due to No preplanning.  haha... I thought I could just make up a pattern as I stitched along...NO, can't do that with circles on a square backing.  Rip/stitch/repeat!!!

Such a blurry photo...argh!  But you get the idea...

Brown wool backing...colors look faded here...much more vibrant in real life!
So, Rich is working on sanding the wood floors in the dinning/living room.  Poor Mattie is terrified of the power tools and is staying as far away as possible...way back in the yard.

Me, I'm going to stitch some more!
Cheers ✄
