Planted some seeds: Rutabagas, radishes, kale, beets and some lettuce.  All for fall harvest...if the weather agrees!

Yes, the weather is perfect today...no rain but the plants are happy b/c they got watered last night!!

Not much to report today...state fair tomorrow!!!

Busy morning so far, made some granola and some coleslaw (from our own cabbage, the last one).

Last night I put together a crock of dill pickles (recipe from "Wild Fermentation" {tweeked}).  Used all ingredients from the garden, garlic, dill and cucs!!  I get so excited doing all this fermenting stuff it's kooky...ha.

Made up 9 1/2 quarts of  tomatoes Tuesday.  So pretty!

Still working on socks.

Arrrggg...back to work today.  We had a great weekend...did a lot of nothing.  Well, I did finish a baby quilt. And worked on socks a bit...we went to the lake and had a long walk with Mattie. The garden needs water badly!  We have had no rain for over a week...maybe 2.  At least the heat has dissipated.

Better get going...hopefully I will have some energy once home to can those patiently waiting tomatoes!!
Cheers

Garlic has been harvested as has onions...
As you can see...they are stored in the basement.  There is a room for all the canned goods.  Just like grandma used to do!
There's sauerkraut in that there crock!

Hello world! It has been many years since there was a post on here. So, starting up anew. My fingers are not used to the keyboard...many mis...
