Some fermentation going on...this is the second day in the process.  Cabbage, dill and garlic from the garden.  I added beets, Brusselsprouts and horseradish too...so in a few weeks (hopefully) we will have sauerkraut!!!


 This is the penny rug top all finished.  Now to figure out a backing so it will lay flat with body...


In the mail yesterday was the loom manual from a very helpful lady who is part of a weaving group.  This winter will be a perfect time to learn how to weave!!! First you have to learn how to warp the loom. But one step at a time....before springtime I hope to be weaving on this beauty!

what am I still doing up?

Well, I've been looking at ways to ferment foods and all the health benefits. We have a cabbage and I need to learn how to make sauerkraut the old fashioned way! So tomorrow to the library I go and get a couple of books:
- "Nourishing Traditions" by Sally Fallon.
-"Wild Fermentation" by Sandor Ellix Katz

We watched the first part of "First Australians" tonight via computer/TV.

Ok, time for bed...planted 5 shrubs today. (2 - Purple Sandcherries, 3 - Dappled Willows)
